Fabric Covered Storage Cube

I'm always looking for ways to better organize our ever-shrinking house and all of its contents. My most recent mission: Project Find-a-Place-to-Stash-Baby-Toys-In-the-Living Room (admittedly, mission name needs work ;-)). Whether you're tucking away toys however, or covering-up craft supplies I've found that the dorm section of your favorite discount store will usually have a solution. The problem? That solution rarely has an in-home design aesthetic. Don't you worry my Crafties, in this case that dilemma is easily remedied with $1 worth of 2nd-hand fabric and some glue. Here's how you can transform a plain plastic cube into a deco-cubbie!

Materials

Plastic Cubbie (Mine is the Itso Storage Cube from Target)

1 yd, Thrift Store Fabric

Recycled Cardboard

Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Spray

Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue

Scissors

How-to

• Measure how big to make each panel. If you're using the same cube as I did, panels will be 12 1/8".

• Cut 4 panels out of cardboard.

• Cut 4 panels out of fabric, making them at least a 1/2" larger around than cardboard pieces.

• In a well-ventilated area, cover front of cardboard piece with Tacky Spray. Center fabric on top and smooth over. Repeat for each square.

• Fold extra fabric over the backside of each cardboard panel and Tacky Glue down.

• Glue a panel to 4 sides of plastic cube. Let dry.
