Dyed Lips Shirt DIY

I have made a few different DIY Lip T-shirts, out of all kinds of mediums, so making one with Tulip Tie-Dye seemed completely normal to me. I love how it turned out!
What you need:
– Tulip One step Tie-Dye Kit
– Shirt– ScissorsLip Stencil Pattern (find it on my blog here)– Contact Paper– Small Spray bottle *Wal-mart in the travel item section, they are only $0.99. You can also buy the Tulip Spray Dye Kit.

– Paper towels– Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond– Masking tape

Print out the the lip stencil (print it off from my blog here). Cover the print- out with contact paper.  Use an X-acto knife, to cut it out:
 Cut off the collar.
Put a cooking sheet in between the shirt. Note: Do not wet your shirt for this project.
Place your stencil on the shirt and tape it down.
You can also place a plastic bag around the edges of the shirt
to keep the dye from getting on any other part of the shirt.
I mixed two parts red dye and one parts orange with about a 1/2 cup of water
I placed a plastic bag around the outside of my DRY shirt to make sure the dye stayed just in the lip are.

Spray  the dye on your shirt, Don't spray too much dye or it will bleed under your stencil.
Blot off the excess with paper towels.
Remove the tape and plastic bags.
I next dried the shirt with a hair dryer.
Then I took my fashion glitter glue and coated the front and the back side of the shirt with glue. This will give you aglossy finish and it will help to keep your red lips staying vibrant.
Let that dry for 12 hours
Lay this shirt in the sink with the back of the shirt pulled up so the water only goes through the front part of the shirt. Rinse until the water runs clear.

Now this will bleed a little but I sort of like that look. It is kind of a  smeared lipstick look.
You could make the lips any color you wanted. I'm going to hand wash my shirt with cold water for the first few times.

I love how you let the red bleed on the shirt a little. I agree. It makes the shirt look more cool. Thanks for the tutorial. I like your style.

Hello! Great idea, and I would love to use this for the upcoming holiday. Where is the lip design stencil located on this page? I haven't found it yet (and you mentioned it was located at the end of this article). Many thanks!
