DIY Concert Shirt

So you have the tickets to the concert, but what do you wear? You can create the perfect concert look without paying for it. I am headed to Lady Gaga concert tomorrow (eeek!!) in true DIY fashion! It is super simple to create your very own shirt to show support for your favorite performer with Tulip Soft fabric paint. And if you want to go all out like I did- you can complete the whole look with hair chalk and face paint.

Here is what you will need:

plain T-shirt in your size

Tulip Soft fabric paint 

paint brushes 

pint out of your favorite performer's name or logo 

freezer paper

craft knife

marker

iron (not pictured)

Step 1: Place a piece of freezer paper over your print out with the shiny side facing downwards and trace it. 

Step 2: Take the craft night and cut out what you just traced to create a a stencil.

Step 3: Place a piece of freezer shiny side up inside of your shirt and position your freezer paper stencil where you please. Then iron over top. This will create a bond between the shirt and the stencil. Check and make sure that the edges are especially adhered down- this will make your lines super crisp! 

Step 4: Paint in your stencil with the Tulip fabric paint! I thought with the font I chose, that alternating colors of the letters looked really cool, but let your mind go crazy and paint it in however you like! This is the fun part! 

Step 5: Once the paint has dried, peel off the stencil and reveal your rockin' shirt! 

I really wanted to go all out with my Lady GaGa look, so I pulled out some of my Tulip Body Art products like the Hair Chalk, Glow in the Dark Face and Body Paint, and the Face and Body Tattoo Kit!  They are so much fun and perfect for sumer concert and parties. 

Lady Gaga always has crazy colored hair, except I am pretty sure that her's are wigs. So I had to have blue hair too! I used the new Hair Chalk and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked on my dark hair. I also recreated the famous lady gaga lightening bold over my eye with the glow in the dark face paint. P.S.- it doubles as eye shadow! 

Now you are all ready to make your own DIY shirt for all the concerts you are heading to this summer! It will be totally unique and you'll definitely be named #1 fan.
