DIY - Whimsical Glow in the Dark Pumpkins

Happy Monday Y'all! It's Jaderbomb here with some exciting news!!! 

If you remember last year I made some Glow in the Dark pumpkins here on the I Love to Create Blog. Can you believe that those pumpkins became one of the most popular blog posts on here?! If you didn't see them you can check them out here. 

No worries if you have never decorated a glow in the dark craft pumpkin because today I will show you how to do some new and improved ones. 

Seriously, every year I look forward to buying tons of plastic pumpkins!  I like the artificial pumpkins for the simple fact that they will last forever, well not really but you get the point. 

Tulip has the best glow in the dark paint and it will be perfect for today's project. This craft is great for kids to do and you will watch the amazement on their face when you put them under or near a black light! Let's get started! Come check out all of my Halloween and Fall crafts!!! 

Glow In The Dark Ghost Photos

Glow in the dark paint is so awesome. It's like a surprise every time you hit the lights. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten into bed after a night of crafting and realized at some point I wiped glow in the dark paint on my pajama pants. Always makes me smile. This fun surprise when the lights go out is perfect for Halloween!.

It's almost Halloween and you know what that means!!! TIME FOR PUMPKINS! 

Every year I look forward to buying tons of plastic pumpkins and create new designs. I like the artificial pumpkins for the simple fact that they will last forever, well not really but you get the point. 

Tulip created an amazing glow in the dark paint and it worked perfect for this project. This craft is great for kids to do and you will watch the amazement on their face when you put them under or near a black light! Let's get started! MAYA IN THE MOMENT TEEN CRAFT: Glowing Corset Halloween Top

I've been craving to use the Tulip Glow in the Dark 3D Paints for Halloween, but I wanted to do something really cool and not cheesy. This is what I came up with...

I took a black fitted T-shirt and slipped it over a cardboard form and taped the back with clear tape so the shirt wouldn't slip.

I then pulled out my favorite paints!

I used a piece of chalk to outline where I wanted to make the first line. After that, I just kept adding rows of designs. It took a couple hours. I suggest a good chick flick to keep your mind entertained as you make dot after dot after dot...Every so often I would hold it up to make sure it was all evenly spaced. I let it dry for several hours.

After that, it was ready to go. I love how it turned out and I'm really looking forward to wearing it out at night to a party or just goofing around with my friends. I think it would be really wild to do a whole pair of jeans like this too.

I started thinking the other day about how NOT every project really has to start from scratch.  Here's what I was thinking.......

So, as explained, I broke out my Tulip Glow-in-the-dark dimensional paint....

 .....and my Tulip Color Change Fabric Paint.

Iron Man glowing in the dark was a big hit.  It was super easy to do and it worked well.  I'm kind of wondering why I didn't do this before.  (I didn't get a good picture of it glowing the dark for you, but it glows.)

Here's the color change one when it's not in the sun...  

...and here it is in the sun.  See how the letters turn blue and the wing tips turn yellow in the sun?  It reminds be of the Hypercolor shirts that were crazy popular when I was a kid.  Cool.

So pick up a bottle of paint, find some old clothes, and give them a little new life.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - BOO-ti-ful Spirits Banner

Would you believe this cute banner is made from a black t-shirt? Whether you’re making it for your front door, your office cubicle, or your Halloween party, it will be terrific when you turn out the lights, because the 3-D paint GLOWS in the DARK!

Materials:
– Aleene's® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive
– Tulip® Craft Mat™
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ Value Packs and Sets
10 pack Glo
– Ribbons – assorted colors desired
– Paper towels
– White chalk – sharpened to a point
– Scissors
– Straight pins
– T-shirt – Black – XL
– Patterns (click here)

Instructions:
1. Cut out banner pattern then pin to double layer of black T-shirt. Cut out then repeat step creating a total of four pennants.

2. Flip over design pattern. Using white chalk, lightly draw over pattern lines holding up to window if needed to see lines.

3. Position first pattern, chalk side down, on first fabric pennant and hold in place. Press fingers along pattern lines to transfer design to fabric. Repeat with all designs and pennant pieces.

4. Place fabric pennant on Craft Mat – it will prevent paint from seeping through to work surface and is easy to clean. Test flow of paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Starting with first pennant, outline each section then fill in with color shown, applying an even coating. Use a straight pin to pop any bubble that may form. Carefully slide off Craft Mat and let dry. Repeat for remaining three pennants.

5. Measure and cut a 6-ft. length of ribbon for hanger. Center pennants along ribbon spacing approximately 4” between and leaving longer tails at each end. Apply a thin bead of Fabric Fusion on ribbon, position banner section in place and press to secure.

6. Using ruler on Craft Mat, measure and cut 8” sections from ribbons, cutting enough for about four ribbons between each pennant and at ends. Tie around long hanger ribbon as shown.
