Dyed Tramp Art Planter DIY

My latest obsession is tramp art. Tramp art is often made from discarded pieces of wood to form geometric shapes. Popsicle sticks are a perfect example. You can find intricate baskets, lamps, picture frames and more from carved sticks. I decided to add to my collection and but a colorful twist on the theme.

My nephews are getting older and moving from a shared room to each having their own. In an effort to  help out with the transition and redecoration of two rooms, my dad and I decided to make each their own custom twin sized bed. We enlisted Aleene's Wood Glue and got after it!

When you have an adult parent and child with ADD walking through the home improvement store together you're bound to get some crazy ideas. For instance, we came to the store to purchase something totally different for a totally different project but left with a couple of glass blocks and furniture grade oak boards. Why? Because I said to my dad, "wouldn't those things make a killer nightlight?"
