Holographic Melted Snowman Shirt

I’ve always loved the concept of the melted snowman in crafting. There are lots of melted snowman ornaments out there and they’re all adorable! But when I saw the iron on holographic transfer sheets, a puddle of a snowman instantly popped into my head!

I’ve used (and loved!) the iron on transfer sheets before when I made this snowman shirt a few years ago. So I thought this time I’d make a cute kid’s shirt too. Of course, there’s nothing saying that big kids can’t wear it too (hint hint).

I used the holographic sheet for the snow puddle and the glitter sheets for the rest of the snowman. See the different looks and colors from the different angles?

You will need:

White shirt
Tulip Fashion Glitter Holographic Transfer Sheet
Tulip Fashion Glitter Shimmer Transfer Sheets (red and black)
Patterns

Print the patterns. In order for the pattern to fit on one piece of paper it may not be as big as you would like. In that case, simply cut the puddle pattern out and place it on top of the holographic transfer sheet. Use a pen to trace around the pattern, tracing larger than the actual pattern, big enough to fit on your shirt.

Cut the traced pattern out from the holographic sheet. I traced mine a little bigger than I wanted it so I wouldn’t have to cut on the pen lines, risking having pen marks in my sheet and on my shirt.

Place the holographic puddle onto the shirt. Place a thin cotton cloth over the top (like a pillow case) and iron according to the package directions (about 40 seconds).

Cut the nose, eyes and arm pieces out using the second pattern and the glitter transfer sheet. With these sheets, you will need to peel off the plastic layer before ironing.

NOTE: It will probably be easier to cut the arms freehand, but the pattern is there if you need it.

Position the glitter pieces over the puddle. When they are where you want them, carefully place the thin cotton cloth over the top and iron according to package directions.

When you lift the cloth, be sure that all edges are securely attached. If not, touch up with a bit more heat.

To care for your shirt, wash on delicate cycle inside out, hang to dry. Have fun!
