I have been in my new house a couple of weeks now. Sure, there are still boxes in the garage and plenty of knick-knacks that have yet to find a home - but my I Love to Create Crafts are settling in just fine. Crafts make the casa so I have been sprinkling the handmade goodness all around my new abode.
One of my fave projects in recent I Love to Create history is this zebra painting my entire family contributed too. We little Baxter scribbled, Tallulah colored, Chris added song lyrics and I did the rest. This family made beauty now proudly hangs in our game room at the new house.
Also in my game room is my collection of family portrait illustrations. I have always had a soft spot for the little poppet family I made with Claudine Hellmuth on an episode of Craft Lab. I later came back and added a Tallulah poppet for I Love to Create. Eventually I will need to make a Baxter and Ella.
Also in my game room, the rug covered ottoman I made for I Love to Create. I am sitting on it typing this blog post as I type. I need a chair with a back ASAP, but in the meantime this one looks so cute and tucks under my desk so nicely.
One of my all time favorite I Love to Create projects is this wee little glitter covered shrine. I have a whole collection of these frames in my pool bathroom and this one sits front and center.
Tallulah proudly displays her artwork in her bedroom. Hidden in the collage of crayon doodles is the reward wheel I made for I Love to Create. I need to get this bad boy started again. Anyone have any tips for getting rowdy kids to stay in their beds?
My husband Chris works from home and his office has turned into quite the handmade hangout. Chris loves Burt Reynolds. I love Burt Reynolds. I don't want to know you if you don't love Burt Reynolds. I have not gotten around to hanging the Burt shrine in his office, but when I do the black velvet Dolly Parton I made for I Love to Create will be hanging nearby.
I don't usually make a habit of keeping empty beer bottles, but I did keep this one from the Father's Day six pack I crafted for Chris one Father's Day.
It is important to keep moral up in the office. I like to remind Chris that he is a winner, or at least 3rd place, with his canoe medal. This I Love to Create project sits proudly in his office window.
Like I said, I am still not completely unpacked. There are years of crafts to display and edit. I'll keep you posted on where everything lands!
