Make Your Own Sequin Shoes using Tulip Fashion Sequins

It's so fun to get to play with all the new products here at iLoveToCreate!  When I was asked to make a pair of sparkly shoes using the new Tulip Fashion Sequins, I was so excited!  Every girl needs a pair of shimmery shoes, don't you think?

Glitter Shoe Fix

Have you ever had that pair of shoes you weren't quite ready to retire yet?

I mean you really like them and because of a unfortunate accident 

 the trash pile felt like your only option.

Well why not disguise that little flaw with a little

 Tulip fashion bond glue and glitter

 resurrecting your shoes from the dead and

 making  them something even more beautiful.

Here's a cool sparkly pair of kicks to enjoy for New Year's that I literally whipped up in under 30 minutes!  They are such a cool way to make a statement with that little black dress at your party and what girl doesn't love a little bling to ring in the new year?

Double Rainbow Glittered Sandals!

Here is Arizona, it's not even February, but it already feels like spring. My mom bought these formerly tan shoes on clearance for the sole purpose (pardon the pun) of revamping them. too bad I got to them first.
 Actually, this is a collab between us. I came up with the glittered rainbow heels and she finished the pair  off with the flowers, which I love!

 Supplies:

1 pair of tall chunky strappy sandals
Assorted Tulip Soft Fabric Paints
Crafty Chica Extreme Embellishment Glue or Tulip Glitter Bond
Crafty Chica Glitters or Tulip Fashion Glitters
Tulip® Fabric Paintbrushes™
Flowers for the tops of the shoes
Tulip Beads in a Bottle
Aleene's Spray Sealer, Glossy

 Paint the tops of the shoes with the fabric paint. Next, paint the bottoms in a rainbow-layered pattern. Use can use a square brush to keep your lines even. Let it all dry.

 Wash your brush and then dip it the glue and apply one color at a time. Add the glue on the red, then add the red glitter, move on to the next color, etc.

 Add the Beads in a Bottle to the tops of them, and then add the flower on top of each shoe.

Glitter Polka Dot Halloween Glitter Shoes

Today I had a blast filming a fun and spooky Halloween craft segment for K-See 24 here in Fresno! One of the projects I showed how to film on air were these super cute and sparkly POLKA DOT GLITTER SHOES! I'm not sure what I love more, polka dots, glitter, or shoes, so I was thrilled that I could combine all 3 for a funky pair of kicks to wear as a part of my Halloween wardrobe!

OK, I have a little secret!! OK, a not so big secret. All you need to make these fabulous shoes is 3 things! Yep, just 3! Grab a pair of black shoes (mine are Mossimo brand from Target), a box of Aleene's Tacky Dots (available at Michaels), and some Tulip® Fashion Glitter in the color of your choice! There are three sizes of Aleene's Tacky Dots (3/16", 3/8" and 1/2" inch). You can also get Tacky Dot Lines if you wanted to do stripes instead for a fun Tim Burton-esque look!
You simply put the dots on the shoes in a random polka dot fashion, then sprinkle glitter on over top. Shake the glitter off and you are ready to go!!

I can't wait to dress up a pair of jeans or wear them with my favorite strip or lacy tights for the season!

How to Make Glittered Dorothy Shoes

My little niece, Sarah, is going as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween. Everyone knows the most important part - aside from Toto, is the pair of ruby slippers. Unfortunately, Sarah's mom couldn't find anything comparable at the stores, so she asked me to transform the above vinyl pair the best I could with glitter.

First thing I did was Google the shoes for a picture.


I wanted to be purist so I bought sequins and tried a Crafty Chica version, which came out like this...



Eh...they didn't quite come out like the original...Sarah and I had a mini-conference at my craft table and made an executive decision to go with old school micro glitter (plus, I ran out of sequins!). This is the end result:

They came out super sparkly and Sarah-approved. I would have added red crystals all over, but Sarah wanted them as is. She is ready to rock the grade school Halloween party!

To make these shoes, first paint them red with Tulip® Soft Fabric Paint™ , if they are not so already.

If the shoes are vinyl, you'll need to sand them down to give them "grip".

Next, coat with Aleene's Fabric Fusion one section at a time and pour on the glitter (I used my Crafty Chica Rockabilly Ruby).

I wanted these shoes to last a long time, so I finished them off with two coats of high gloss Aleene's® Spray Acrylic Sealer™.

DIY Sex in the City Glitter Shoes

It's time to Carrie On! Sex in the City 2 hits theaters nationwide today and in honor of the return of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha,and Miranda on the big screen, we wanted to show you how easy it is to get the SATC 2 look without breaking the bank.

In the movie, Carrie wears the sparkly and golden Christian Louboutin shoes you see in the graphic above (here's a closer look we found of Carrie wearing them on the Streets of NYC). We wanted to create our own version using fabulous Tulip® Fashion Glitter™ and Fashion Glitter Bond™. And the cool thing is that you can get this look for under $20 bucks using a pair of fabric pumps you pick up at your local discount store or your local thrift shop. You may even have a pair in your closet that you need to revamp!

DIY Sex in the City Glitter Shoes

– Tulip® Fashion Glitter™ (in gold or color of your choice)
– Tulip® Glitter Bond™
– Paintbrush or make-up sponge
– Paper towels
– Shoes (we used some with a fabric texture, it makes it easier for the glitter to grab on)
– Plastic Tablecloth
– Foil

Instructions:
For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth. Set shoes on prepared surface.
2. Squeeze out Glitter bond onto foil. Using paintbrush or make-up sponge apply glue to shoes.
3. Once desired areas are covered, immediately cover with Fashion Glitter.
Optional: Use glitter bond and paint over glittered areas to seal.

Tip: Lay paper towel down underneath shoes while applying glitter, shake excess glitter onto paper towel then back into glitter bottle.
Let shoes dry completely.

Note: We used these glitter shoes for display, so that’s why you see the glitter on the inside of the shoes too! We don’t recommend this for wearing, but they would make a fun wall motif like shown or accents and art to make your space super girly and fun!
