Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day. To celebrate I thought I would share a sneak book into one of my scrapbooks. I have been playing around with jewelry findings, vintage embroidered table cloths and of course Aleene's Tacky Glue.
I have been playing around with Project Life pages. However, in true Jennifer Perkins fashion I have put my own spin on things. I don't do the pages in terms of a week, instead I tend to do them in theme. The theme of this page was pirates.
I was inspired by a vintage embroidered tablecloth I had picked up at a thrift store. I had appliqued one of the ships on a onesie for a friend. I looked at the remaining ships and wondered if I could applique them into my scrapbook. Why yes, you can. I used Aleene's Tacky Glue Sheets in place of fusible web to get a nice smooth bump free adhesion of the fabric to paper.
I may not make jewelry as much as I used to, but I still have plenty of jewelry findings in my stash. Lately I have been incorporating them into my scrapbook layouts. Something heavy like these vintage pirate ship cameos call for a stronger glue. I went with straight up old school Aleene's Tacky Glue and those suckers have not budged once.
I love the way the page turned out. Pirate ships and pools make for a great combo. How did you celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day? Looking for more ideas? Stop by BlogHer and check out more suggestions. Want to see more sneak peaks into my scrap/smash books? Click here.
